Team Race Jersey Ready!

So Pactimo gave us a shipment date of 10/08/08 for our race jersey's and shorts!! That will be aweseome! A huge thanks to all the sponsors who helped us get these jersey's going, especially to our main sponsor all the way from Italy, Renato Casati! Without his generosity, we would have been no where near getting these done! So thanks a ton Renato!

"Summer Time 'n the Livin's Easy......"

(Mr. Keller rockin short track in Park City, Utah in the Pro field June 30th)
Name that song from the title!!

Anyhow...after a race in Wisconsin with Dylan doing his first Sport Class race which totalled 24 miles and then off to a national in Park City, Utah, I'm finally back in the Red Rock Country lookin to start riding again.

It is July 7th, so what I'll promise is Tuesday/Thursday morning group rides starting at the base of Schnebly hill at 7:30 AM (Yes Wyatt, you may have to go to bed before midnight to make this ride).....WE will start timing ourselves from the base of the climb where 179 and schnebley intersect to the first gate which is the merry-go-round. After we get this under 45 minutes, we'll go to the lookout which should be an hour climb for the majority.

So, Keller will be at 179 and Schnebley road at 7:30AM starting this thursday. If you wanna train and ride seriously while improving your endurance and downhill abilities, be there and show me what you got!

Yes, I'm callin' ya all out, lets see what you got!

Schnebley rd/hwy 179 Tuesdays THursdays 7:30AM rest of July and into AUgust. When school starts, we will meet at Red Rock High! send me a myspace or leave a message here to get in contact with me.

Jr. High Mountain Bike AZ State Champions!

Success in our 1st year as a race team. West Sedona Jr. High are Arizona State Mountain Bike Champions in their first year as a team! We won the school competition by a commanding 200 points. Race points, community service, training logs, and membership to NOVA all contributed to our winning of the state title.

Even I had a good race at the state finals in Flag, finishing seventh in the pro field and having this opportunity to hold the #1 trophy earned by my boys Wyatt, Mikey, and Dylan!

So today, Keller and I biked to the High school... He was on his road bike, and I was on my MTB... He showed me a sweet somewhat down hill trail, to the end of the hill... I made it down pretty fast, and I thought it would be fun to go back up on...It was so hard to go back up, I just kept spinning the whole time... It was a never ending spin to the top... It sure burnt me.. But it was worh the ride, I had fun...I have been riding a lot since track has endend... Last race, I gotta try and make the podeum....or how ever you spell it :p

BUMMER MAN!

The race at mcdowel went... bad. I got two flat tires and almost had to walk the second half. by the time i had the second flat i was out of co2 and i had to ride on a crazy sharp rocky trail with about 20 psi in my rear tire( not much!) so i came in last! kind of a bummer cause i was up with the top ten for most of the race till i got that first flat. but it wasnt all bad, the weather was amazing and i got plenty of brakes lol

SHE-NEBLY

This is Merry-go-round the lookout on schnebley hill road we road to!

Keller, Jordan, Sammy and I rode out to the look out on schnebly road. it was a killer ride but my bike wasnt designed for that kinda trail. sammy and jordan were rokin heavy duty dh bikes and i was trailing behind with a super light weight xc bike. i gota nice sun burn and some dust in my eyes but it was a great ride over all. i cant wait to get my new bike and get back out there. it felt good doing those long climbs today but i was struggleing on those down hills with basicly no suspension.

Here is the elevation and distance we climbed, then descended!

Rad view down the valley from the top....which was only a few miles away from where we were!

Racee

Well, so much for the race huh. I took a little joy ride off the trail. I was following a kid, and he went straight when we were suppose to turn. So I followed him, and he started to pull away, and I could no longer keep up. So I was on my own, I made it to a dirt road! I went down that for about 7 miles, and then I turned back. Went down the other side of the dirt road for about another 2 miles. I had no idea where the race was anymore. I ran out of water, and I look down and see a crystal clear ckreek, and I go down and fill up my water bottle. Finally, I figure, I should just start to back track. i go back about 6 miles and hit the trail. I had nothing left, I mean nothing, until a few bikers past me. It was the best feeling to see bikers again. ha. I started the race at about 10:15 A.M. and did not pass the finish the race until about 4:30 P.M. ha, It was a long day. I took a pretty hard spill too. Split open my arm pretty deep, and long. But I learned my lesson. I guess. but yet, I look back and I had funn. It was a training day for me. haha. I like to say that, the 10 miles was not enough-I needed and extra 30! They way I look at it, I wanted a longer and more fun ride. haaha, Well hope for better next race.

West Sedona Jr. High and Elementary Teams leading the Leauge!

Check out the points totals so far!

If we keep it up, we'll be the Arizona School State Champions!

They have extended the championship race until the last MBAA race in Flagstaff sometime in May to give the Flagstaff riders a chance to catch us! So we need to keep on racin and keep up on the training log/blog to earn more points. Dylan is doing a great job with 225 points, he isn't far off the leader of the Jr. High Series.

Lets go ride

Dang I want to go ride! I have not been able to ride for a little over a week. I can not wait for the next race at Gardner Canyon, Santa Rita Mountains, Sonoita. Im going to have a bunch of NRG to get rid of at the race. Mr.Keller said it was a super radd, and fun course. So Im pretty pumped for it, and I cant wait to ride again. Its going to feel AMAZING to get back on my bike. I think Im going to go for a little ride Firday after track, just to get a feel of the bike again.

Also, just about two or so weeks ago. I have started to use clip-ins. Kinda scary, I have took a few falls here and there but nothing I have not been able to get up from. Ha, Im starting to get use to them, it seems everytime I go and stop at a stop sign in a car. I twist my foot to get out of the pedals even when im not on a bike. Haha. Well I was just telling you how its going, talk to you guys laterrs.

RACE!

Just got home from a race down at Estrella. The trail was crazy rocky but ive made it through worse. Over the last week ive been trying to train, however due to my lack of a working bike it's been dificult. Lucky for me Mr Keller stepped in and lent me a bike. I went on a ride from Sedona to Voc, ( about ten miles each way) it was the first time i was riding clipless ever sence that mizerable day on soldiers pass. Any ways back to the race, i placed fifth wich im happy with but id love to be in top three consistantly(maby next year). I took a bad spill about thirty feet away from the finish line on the last down hill section. To say the least i left a little skin on that trail today. I've got a nasty limp, a violent bruse on my leg, and deep road rash cut into my whole right side. Thank god i was wearing a helmet or things probly would have gotten ugly. but over all today was wonderful, good weather ( maby a lil hot tho). So now im looking forward to the next race, its a four hour drive from where i live so that should be FUN.
